When we first got Mortimer, we kept him tethered to some links on the stroller and found that our son could have fun by grabbing just a piece of the moose at a time. So yes, Morty might be a bit large for little ones to hold, but they could easily play with just a leg or an antler at a time. We now keep one in each car because Gabe loves to have Morty with him whenever he is in his car seat. We have also bought Mortimers for other little friends so they can enjoy him too!
